Why should I even marry him?


How many times have we sat across our lovers on dates, and silently wondered if we should or should not be with them? I'm sure some of us must have wondered at certain times what we were doing with our significant others. It happens. Funny huh? Yeah, but that doesn't mean they are not good enough for us or anything. It's just our ever busy, ever working minds messing with our heads and filling our brains with all those Cinderella fantasies of our Prince Charming.
Perhaps, he is not too handsome, but then, he is not ugly but your mind keeps showing you images of an imaginary Prince Charming; the one with the connecting beards; the tall, dark and handsome Yoruba demon. Meanwhile, this our 'Urhobo' bobo(he could be from any tribe) has not done any wrong. He is just short; remember he did not create himself. Y'all have been dating for the past five, six or so years? Aunty how come you're just disliking his short figure now all of a sudden? One player is suddenly on your case and you want to drop uncle just like that? You're beginning to sense that he is going to propose soon and all of a sudden, you're not so sure about him anymore?
You develop cold feet, you start to create wahala that doesn't exist. You invent imaginary fights. You bicker, you nag and our bros starts to ask himself if he really knows you at all. Aunty, hear the word of the Lord o. It says: "come, let us reason together." I am calling on you now, to come, so that we can reason together. If you are convinced that this uncle really loves you and you know he is going to be an awesome husband and an amazing father, what are you still waiting for? If he tolerates you, aunty you've found the one because, love alone is never enough in a marriage. You need to be able to tolerate each other. You know he is godly and is ready to take care of you, biko, na God I dey take beg you, accept the guy's proposal sharply. Girls' eyes dey shook these days o, dem no dey smile at all. If you're still slacking, they'd have married him before you know what's happening. Oko won lode o.
It is short that he is short, he did not commit any offence and it is fine, he did not fine, he did not murder anybody's child.

P.S: Connecting beards, his tall height and handsome face will not put food on the table neither is it a prerequisite for a lasting marriage.

  The last time Sheila ever felt loved—intense, soul-wrenching, heart-thumping love was in the period between 2007 – 2011. She was just 19 and he was 21. He didn’t have money to give her and she didn’t even want money, she wanted just him—and he did love her. It was obvious in the way he treated her. In the way he looked at her. She knew it deep down in her soul that he loved her until he didn’t because he cheated and made it so obvious—she almost died. It was excruciatingly painful… But two years later, she moved on.
